Tips for Hot Weather Riding

Aloha, Good People!!

Summer is already here. Just want to remind you to keep healthy in the hot days.

  1. Apply Sun screen and Wear a Cap

You have to apply sunscreen before every ride, especially in the summer. Don’t burn yourself, in the summer you will use short arm of jersey and shorts. You need coverage sunscreen on your arms, legs, face and (don’t forget) neck. And wear a cap under your helmet to shield your head.

2. Keep hydrated

Water is 75% of body. Proper hydration not only quench the thirst. But provide body to maintain balance, support the brain function, flush the toxin, and good metabolism. For long rides on hot days, always bring an extra water bottle. Some riders like to bring one freezer bottle, so they can use it to cool down throughout the day. With insulated bottle, the water will keep cold longer.

3. Sunglasses

The intense ultraviolet rays in sunlight damage sensitive cells in your eyes, the cumulative effect of which can result in cataracts, clouded vision and even worse. Not only keep out from the radiation of the sun. But also keep out from small objects. When doing activities, a small distraction like dust flying into the eyes could disturb your focus, and can lead to accidents.

4. Rest and Cool Off

If you feel unwell. Feel free to stop, cool of and rest. Do not force yourself to ride a bicycle in the scorching heat.
