GO BIKEPACKING

Hello, Amazing Riders!!!

Bikepacking. How to start?

The best bike to use is the bike that you already have. You can plan the road that suit with your bike, with all your luggage. Make sure you use a bike that can handle whatever terrain you set out to explore.

First, check your bicycle condition. Every parts, tyres, brakes, chain, bolt etc. If you don’t have confidence to maintain by yourself, visit your local bicycle shop. Do as soon as possible. If there’s problem with your bike and requires to change some parts, it will take time to get and fix it.

Second, plan the trip. But don’t overplanning. Be fun and less stress. Be realistic about how much distance you can cover. Plan the place that you want to visit. Choose the place that you want to stay, either you want to do camp or rest in accommodation places.

Third, make a list. Don’t overloaded with many gears.

    1. Bike items: helmet, sunglasses, gloves, cycling computer, repair kit & tools.
    2. Lights and power bank
    3. Dry bag to keep your belongings dry
    4. Clothing: socks, jersey, lightweight and waterproof jacket (pack your waterproof jacket near the top so you don’t have to empty a bag to find it during a downpour).
    5. Sleeping gears: tent, sleeping bag, mattress (If you choose to camp).
    6. Food: plan whether you prefer to cook, or restaurant hopping for efficiency and local culinary adventure. If you choose to cook, bring the efficient cook tools. But for sure bring the snack that you like.
    7. Water: install good bottle cage for bringing your water bottle, and bring the portable water filter if you think it is necessary. Make sure you can easily reach your water
    8. Toiletries; most important: toothbrush, lightweight & quick dry of towel.

Fourth, your bikepacking bags and Packs. Make sure your bags can keep all the list that you want to bring. You can make the things less to fit in your bags/packs or you can add bags/packs to fit all you need.

Fifth, Try out. Put all things on your bike. Try to ride it, and do field test. Field test means you know exactly how to start, use and tidy up all the things that you bring. Such as a tent, repair tools, etc. If there’s no problem with it. You are ready for bikepacking.

Let’s GO!!! AND HAVE FUUUNNNN!!!!
