Hello, Fabulous Riders!!!!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

To remind you all. How long have you not cleaned your\u00a0 bicycle chain? Proper roller chain lubricating not only improves the life of the chain, but it also improves sprocket life and reduces noise and shock loads. Lubrication can increase the life and performance of any roller chain, regardless of chain grade\/ quality level of material. Any lube is a good lube. What is most important is that you’re doing the lube to your bike properly.<\/p>\n

These are two common chain lubes in the market. Dry<\/strong> and wet lube<\/strong>. What is difference of dry and wet lube?<\/p>\n

Dry lube<\/strong> for those riding one to two times a week on the road or on the trail. The formula is lighter formula for dry and dusty conditions. It is not sticky, and doesn’t hold dust and grime. Normally used by riders in spring and summer. Reapply dry lube at least one or two per two weeks. However if you go ride in wet conditions then you should reapply after you get back home, because the wet weather will have washed off all of your dry lube.<\/p>\n

The wet lube<\/strong> is good to use when the conditions are wet, damp and muddy. It has thicker consistency and is formulated to with rain muds and puddles. It’s good for long riding, also usually used in the rainy season and winter. Less to reapply, however if you apply wet lube and riding in a lot of dry conditions, then lots dust and dirt can stick to the chain.<\/p>\n

The basic how to lube the chain. First, grab a rag and some degreaser, and make sure that your chain and drive train is clean before applying the lube. Once everything is dried, you can grab your lube and start applying to your chain and you can just pedal backwards, and do one or two passes to fully coat your chain. Remember the part of the chain you have to lubricated.<\/p>\n

Once your chain is fully lube, leave for at least an hour to seep in between the links and evaporate as it’s a suspension of lube in a liquid. Then wipe off any excess with another clean rag.<\/p>\n
